  1. Wow, he is disturbing. Whoever invented the speedo should be killed by firing squad.

    • Oh, I don’t know if you’d feel the same way if he were 10 years younger. And the tan had better borders. And he spent more time in the gym. And went all ‘new school’ with some scissors, razors, tweezers and Nare. And he had plastic surgery. And the Speedos were black. And he was standing in front of the Italian Mediterranean Sea. And he were holding one, red rose out to you with a look of seduction in his eyes. Nah, it still doesn’t work.

      Thanks Mrs. D!!

      • He does have one bitchin’ sock tan, doesn’t he?

        Comment by 3 Men and a Lady | March 22, 2010 | Reply

        • It’s the best in the Business D, and it’s bitchin indeed!

    • we call those speedos “budgie smugglers” over here. The Leader of the Opposition has been appearing in his at every possible photo opportunity. I loathe his conservative politics and will probably emigrate if he ever gets into power but he does have a great body (for a politician)

      Comment by nursemyra | March 21, 2010 | Reply

      • HA! Budgie smugglers, love it! We also call them Banana hammocks. If he does get in, come to Spain…please!

      • I’m with you NM.

        Comment by frigginloon | March 24, 2010 | Reply

  2. Ok, Scott. The fact that you post a beautiful sky shot and then follow it with a photo that has the ability to blind people, shows just how talented/warped you are.

I don’t think I have ever been more speechless in my life. I can’t stop staring at it, it’s like those speedos are screaming my name, telling me to “Eat your veggies!”

What’s the opposite of a vegetarian? Whatever it is, that’s what I am now.

    • A carnivore? No, no, no B! You’ll only make him angry. And you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. Can’t you see his squinty, pig-like eyes and pale, fleshy upper-thigh skin? Well honestly, you probably wouldn’t like him when he’s happy either…so I guess it’s a wash.

And thanks for the compliment too. It’s from my series ‘A Cheap Camera Shooting Out of a Ryan-Air Window,’ and I’m very proud of it!

      Thanks B!!

  3. Oh, and congratulations, CLT.

You’ll forgive me for being distracted there for a moment…

    Comment by bschooled | March 19, 2010 | Reply

    • Wha…? Banana. Hammock.

Oh, hey bschooled. Thanks! I was just… uh… just… staring at the beautiful sky…

Comment by Capitalist Lion Tamer | March 20, 2010 | Reply

  4. Whoohoo! Yeah!

I’d like to think the kind people of West Virginia for their marvelous attitude and general cheeriness. You know I kid because I love! If it wasn’t for you, and your inbreeding, I wouldn’t be standing here today, clutching this shiny blue link!

Bschooled makes an excellent point, Scott. Those are the most disturbing bookends I’ve seen in awhile. It’s as though the fringe members of the family got together to make a motivational poster.

And my submission for this [insert random timeframe]:
“In other news, the FDA has just released a statement on acceptable phpm (pubic hairs per million) levels in organic produce.”

Comment by Capitalist Lion Tamer | March 20, 2010 | Reply

    • That was a great acceptance speech. It was just short enough to prevent Don from rushing onstage to interrupt you. (You know how he gets after those Friday ‘lunches’ at the VFW.) Congratulations CLT, you deserved it! But try not to clutch the award too tightly, those things are made out of flimsy code and we wouldn’t want a repeat of last year’s unpleasantness.

I love your new caption as well, but I was hoping that they had a zero tolerance policy concerning pubic hair. Damn.

      Thanks CLT!!

  5. Big high-five to CLT, who never fails to amaze and enlighten. I gotta really think about this one. There’s a killer caption somewhere. I need a clear head and good night’s sleep. Great picture, mi amigo!

Comment by Dan McGinley | March 20, 2010 | Reply

    • You’re right Dan; CLT is Kreskin and Deepak Chopra rolled into one delightful free market system. Everybody says so.

Take some peyote and Ambien and I’ll see you tomorrow.

      Thanks Dan!!

Comment by Scott Oglesby | March 20, 2010 | Reply

      • Okay Scott . . . after days of thought and wandering the desert with Navajo spirits and diableros, a caption presented itself:

“During the Summer of Love, J.C. Penny realized a huge market loss after some disastrous spring catalog decisions.”

  9. Well deserved CLT. And the bonus shot is sweeter than Type II Diabetes Scott.

“Oh, and here’s a picture of Steve just weeks before he died in a freak gardening accident.”

Comment by Fundamental Jelly | March 21, 2010 | Reply

    • Glad you like the bonus shot FJ. I believe it was over the Sierra Nevada’s. I love being up in the sky.

I hate to think what befell poor Steve. Whatever it was it couldn’t have been pretty; nothing about that poor bastard’s life was.

      Thanks FJ!!

  15. These damn photos always give me nightmares! But they do make me grateful that…well, just grateful.

Comment by Pamela Villars | March 26, 2010 | Reply

    • Sorry about the nightmares. These photos make me grateful as well. Greatful that I had the good sense to destroy all evidence of my young, drunken days. Not that you’d find me in something like that….but …you know.

      Thanks Pamela!!
