Still more to come too.
Thanks Susi!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 8, 2010 |
sigh 😦
Comment by Susi Spice | May 10, 2010 |
What?
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 10, 2010 |
I like door #1 and door #3.
#3 is really pretty. #2 looks like it goes to a creepy dungeon. (I hope the dungeon isn’t your front door, lol!)
Comment by Mrs.D | May 8, 2010 |
#1 reminds me of a NYC brownstone for some reason. No, 2 is actually the town hall. Both doors open in case you have to ride a horse in for some reason. I’ll include my own soon.
Thanks Mrs. D!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 8, 2010 |
Well, you never know when you will have to ride in on your trusty steed to take care of civic business.
Comment by Mrs. D | May 9, 2010 |
Haha, it must happen occasionally or else….why?
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
Wanted to let you know I changed my URL. My OCD wouldn’t let me have mismatched URL and blognames 😉
Comment by Mrs. D | May 10, 2010 |
Ok, I’ll fix it on my blogroll. And I couldn’t let that slide either.
Thanks Mrs.D!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 10, 2010 |
I love the overall look of the last one
but I really love the brickwork in the other shot
you sure do live in a pretty place
Comment by dianne | May 8, 2010 |
I know you would love it here. As for the brick and stone work, it’s amazing. A lot of people have marble on the outside of their homes as well. Especially in more expensive areas.
Thanks Dianne!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 8, 2010 |
I like the doors. With so much stone, these doors makes a statement.
Comment by Micky-T | May 8, 2010 |
You gotta buy that house up the road man, or at least visit, I can show you some really amazing work.
Thanks Micky!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 8, 2010 |
OK, I’ll be there in an hour. I’ll call from the donkey on the way up the hill. lol
Wish I could!
Comment by Micky-T | May 9, 2010 |
Just get the airfare together…
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
Great doors – please keep them coming Scott
Comment by David | May 8, 2010 |
Will do.
Thanks David!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
I think I am having Door envy. Nice shots Scott.
Comment by Fundamental Jelly | May 9, 2010 |
haha, I’m sure you have a few nice ones, of adequate size and girth in Cali.
Thanks FJ!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
Beautiful!!

Thanks Candice!!

Sometimes I just think everything about Europe is better, even the doors it seems…
Comment by RubyTwoShoes | May 9, 2010 |
Not everything, some stuff…but definitely not everything.
Thanks RTS!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
I love these.
I’d live behind numbers 3 and 4, regardless of what the house looked like…
Comment by bschooled | May 9, 2010 |
For me, #4 feels like home. You don’t want to know what goes on behind door #3….
Thanks B!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
I love #2
Comment by nursemyra | May 9, 2010 |
It’s the town hall. I knew you’d like that one.
Thanks Nursemyra!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
Door #2 seems like it should come with several warning signs. I can only imagine the number of bruised shins/foreheads that door has caused.
I’m liking this mini-series, Scott. (Not that I’ve cursed it with my fandom, I’m sure this will be the end of it…)
Comment by Capitalist Lion Tamer | May 9, 2010 |
Bruised shins, yea…foreheads, not a chance. It’s deceptively high, probably at least 9 feet. The full door is 15 at least.
No, you’ll see plenty more of these. The doors are my new go-to posts when I’m too busy/lazy for real posts. Which seems like more and more often lately.
Thanks CLT!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
It’s like let’s make a deal only without that annoying Monty Hall. I’ll take door number two please.
Comment by Donald Mills | May 9, 2010 |
Monty was a real jackass Don, I agree. Door #2 will win you enough bureaucratic paperwork to start a state fair sized bonfire.
Thanks Don!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 9, 2010 |
This is NOT “shitty photography” but a lovely series of work showing your world, KUTGW!
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 10, 2010 |
Haha that’s just a nod to FJ, Dave. What does KUTGW mean?
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 10, 2010 |
Keep Up The Good Work, sorry to confuse but I have a reputation for acronmys to maintain. Maen!
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 10, 2010 |
Ahh, makes total sense now. I’ll have to reacquaint myself with Urban Dictionary. Or at least google.
Thanks Dave!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
I like all those doors. Especially # 2.
Comment by Heff | May 10, 2010 |
2 is my favorite as well for being unique. You just don’t see that in the US.
Thanks Heff!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
These are too cool! You gotta keep ’em coming, Scott. It’s such a trip back in time, and inspiration for what I want to do to the back part of this old house some day. Some distant, glorious day . . . my little “medievel area”.
Comment by Dan McGinley | May 10, 2010 |
Let me know when you get started on that, I can give you a lot more help with ideas. I’ve always wanted to build a gator filled moat. I have other ideas too…
Thanks Dan!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
A moat! I need a moat!
Comment by Dan McGinley | May 11, 2010 |
and a spikey drawbridge!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 13, 2010 |
Those really are cool doors. My door looks like I got it from a McDonald’s happymeal.
Comment by Ramblin' Rooster | May 11, 2010 |
That’s what I hate about Home Depot; they’re in bed with the happy meal people…
Thanks Rooster!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
*sigh* 😦
Comment by Susi Spice | May 11, 2010 |
I’m not understanding these exhalations…?
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
*deeper sigh* 😦 😦
Comment by Susi Spice | May 11, 2010 |
I think its either love, lust or jealousy about doors?
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 11, 2010 |
I’ll choose to believe that it’s either love or lust until I here otherwise…
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
Too bad they don’t have an orgasmic smiley!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
Perhaps bearman would design something?
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 11, 2010 |
Ask him for us?
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
On my way after I type!
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 11, 2010 |
Very cool!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
Funny I thought they already had an orgasmic one.
Depending on the type of orgasm it could be
“8O”
or
😛
or for the premature folks
😳
When I get back to my wacom, I might have to make one for you Scot.
Comment by Bearman | May 11, 2010 |
Darn…that first one should have been
😯
Comment by Bearman | May 11, 2010
I appreciate all of your hard work in helping me express my…words. I love the pink to yellow one; how did you do it?
Thanks Bearman!!

Comment by Bearman | May 12, 2010
And that’s the easy answer? It would seem that blogger does not so easily accomodate smileys, I hope!
Comment by Dave Hambidge | May 12, 2010
That is extremely helpful, thank you!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 12, 2010 |
They are unique and somewhat intriguing…like the opening to Narnia?
Comment by Candy | May 11, 2010 |
I haven’t seen that yet, Thanks for reminding me to check that out!
Thanks Candy!!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 11, 2010 |
yes yes yes!!! we love these doors… i want door like that too.
Comment by Lynn | May 12, 2010 |
Come over and pick one out!
Comment by Scott Oglesby | May 13, 2010 |
[…] What purpose they may have for that in correspondence is between the two of them. But they called me out (head down to comment 18) and even though I thought there already was some equivalent I figured […]
